Each summer in August we gather with fellow United Church of Christ Congregations around Lake Geneva at the Ferror Pavilion at George Williams College of Aurora University. Our choirs combine to offer beautiful music and our pastors lead us in an uplifting worship service.
Each lent we gather with the United Church of Christ Congregations around Lake Geneva on Wednesday evenings to share soup and desert followed by worship led by our pastors.
A favorite holiday tradition is tied to the beautiful white clad figure of
Lucia, the "bearer of light," who illuminates the darkness of winter on
December 13th. Very early, before dawn, when the world is still blanketed in
darkness, Lucia appears at each bedside, dressed in a white
gown with a red
sash, wearing a crown of candles on her head, she awakens each member of the
family with light saying: "Saint Lucia brings you light and bids you come to
breakfast." In her hands she carries a tray of coffee, sweet rolls and
cookies. We celebrate this festival every few years.
We gather before dawn in Library Park to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus.
Join us as we commune with nature, enjoy our beautiful lake, and marvel at the wonders that God has given us. A sunset prayer cruise provides the perfect backdrop to experience God.
We celebrate the birth of Jesus with a 7:30pm service of scripture, carols and candle light.
