Our Church, Our Community...Pass It On!Our church community today continues to grow with new programs for youth ministry, strong Christian education classes, a new direction for music and a diverse mix of organizations that make up our congregation.
Whether you are a member of the church, attend one of the weekly activities or have chosen to celebrate life’s milestones in its beautiful sanctuary, 1st Congregational United Church of Christ Lake Geneva holds a special spot in the community and in the hearts of many. Recently celebrating its 175th Anniversary the time has come for a capital campaign to raise funds that will help maintain its lasting beauty for generations to follow. A distinguishing architectural feature, the beautiful stained glass, will be reinforced for durability, the charming clock will be returned to its time honored tradition of keeping time, and the church itself will received an updated wardrobe - a new roof and an exterior coat of paint. While our faith is strong, unfortunately our worship space is not. Our church building is deteriorating and in need of these major improvements. We’ve determined it will require funding of $80,000 to complete the needed repairs. The campaign has received a generous matching fund donation of $20,000 to kick off this fundraising effort. Although this may seem like a large task, we remain confident that with the support of the church and its friends, we will accomplish this major goal. We are launching a capital campaign, aptly named, “Our Church, Our Community” to help raise the needed funds to support our church building for generations to come. We are gratified and inspired by the personal investment so many of our members have made already towards the life of this church. Now is the time to come together and achieve the vision to preserve this beautiful building to help us celebrate 200 years and beyond. This is Our Church, Our Community and we want to pass it on. Please join the legacy of UCC Lake Geneva and prayerfully consider a financial pledge to support this capital campaign. |
